SCHC keeping fit and having fun

For a month now the SCHC personnel have been gathering in front of the hospital at 5:00 pm every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. What for?  To do a thirty minute session of aerobic exercises called Tae Bo.  The desire behind the activity is to reduce the calorie content of our plump bodies and to promote fitness in the SCHC Community.  In our sports outfit, counting from 1 to 8 then 8 to 1, following the rhythm of the music, we move from left to right, forward and backward, turn around, and release gallons of sweat.  Thanks be to God, it is well participated.  There’s the all out support of the doctors, nurses, personnel and staff of SCPHC and, of course, the initiative of our physical instructress, Mia.  Let’s keep on moving, guys.

Commission of Health Forums re-launched

“Maupay nga Panlawas… Bahandi” (Healthy Body - A Treasure).  This was the theme adopted by the Commission on Health of the Diocese of Calbayog as they re-launched the basic health forums at SCHC.  On August 14, 2009, a forum on diabetes mellitus was organized. Dr. Manny Rosales and Dr. Gilbert Cabigon, doctors from our institution, were the guest speakers.  The staff and personnel of SCHC and representatives from the Diocesan Commission on Health participated in the forum.  This successful beginning will be followed by more forums with equally interesting health topics in the coming months.

The following day, the Diocesan Commission on Health held “Oplan herniorrhaphy” at SCHC.  Thanks to the medical team led by Dr. Cabigon, eight patients were able to undergo the procedure.  We are indeed grateful for the chance to collaborate once again with the Diocesan Social Action in the service of the poor-sick in     Calbayog City.

LCF of Calbayog keeps the flame alive

In the afternoon of August 16, 2009, the Lay Camillian Family of Calbayog held its monthly meeting at Brgy. San Joaquin, Tinambacan District, Calbayog City.  It was a moment of strengthening the bond and envisioning innovations for promoting the LCF and enhancing the continuous formation of every member.  The meeting ended on a hopeful note and with a renewed vision and commitment to keep the flame of LCF burning in Calbayog.  To the meeting sponsors – the San Joaquin Chapter – many thanks!

Till next…
