Good news here in Balugo. The land on which our chapel sits has been donated to the Diocese. We had a survey done and hopefully if funding comes from a Catholic Canadian couple who have been staying here some months – we can repair the roof and expand the chapel. More people are coming to church but there isn’t enough room to accommodate them. Received a nice note from Bishop Du who sent best wishes and blessings (need them) on my 42nd anniversary of my ordination. Always nice to be remembered. News from Obama Land just hit this editor’s desk. Baby-killer Super Obama has instructed the U.S. delegate to the U.N. and also Clinton (secretary of state) to push for abortion world wide. How’s that for baloney? Notre Dame University in the U.S. should be “cheering” this move. Wonder how the U.S. bishops feel about this “pro-death” policy. All you cell phone addicts, rejoice and celebrate. The cell phone companies have extended the duration of activated cell cards. I’ll drink my favorite beverage – non fat milk? – to that decision. A guy here in Balugo gathering tuba fell to his death not long ago. Heard he had an epileptic seizure up in the coconut tree. Heard also he stopped his medicine. Finally the multinational drug companies have to take their own medicine after cheating and ripping off patients for many years. The prices of 20 expensive drugs will be lowered by 50% by August 15th. Will believe it when I see it, St. Thomas said. Hey, you meat and dairy products eaters. Be careful! The “experts” say that red meat and whole-fat dairy products are high in fat and carry a possibility of bacterial and chemical contamination. Eat lots of fish, fruits and vegetables and drink my favorite beverage – non fat milk? – to live a long and healthy life. By the way did you know fat and obese people have a higher risk for swine flu? Until next month, Fr. Tom Welu, MI.
