Another healthcare center in honor of St. Camillus opens in Taiwan
The Ministers of the Infirm of the Taiwan Delegation celebrated this year’s feast of St. Camillus with the joyful opening of the St. Camillus Long-term Care Center for the elderly in Sanshing Hsian, Ilan County. The blessing of the center took place at 9:00am. Government officials and benefactors graced the occasion, sharing the joy of having in Taiwan another facility that can provide a home for 120 elderly residents.
The celebration of St. Camillus’ feast day continued with the
Eucharistic celebration that began at 10:30am at the nearby Center for
the Handicapped. Archbishop John Hung, Archbishop of Taipei, presided
at the mass which incorporated the administration of the sacraments of
Baptism and Confirmation for 12 adults and children residing in the
center. The gathering in the center also occasioned the induction of
the first members of the Camillian Family and the renewal of commitment
of all the personnel of the center.
At 4:00pm, a program in honor of St. Camillus was held at St. Mary’s
Hospital in Lotung, which featured the recognition given to hospital
employees who have rendered 5 or more years of service to the
institution. A Eucharistic celebration followed afterwards. The
celebration ended with early dinner happily shared by all.
