St. Camillus Feast Day: Advance Celebration

The St. Camillus Polyclinic, Antipolo commemorated the feast day of St. Camillus in advance.  We celebrated it last July 11 because one of our formators was leaving for Davao the next day to attend the diaconal ordination of Bro. Marven Ruyeras, M.I.  In addition, the novices were going to attend their first modular classes in Exodus on the feast day itself.

The activity started with the Eucharist at which  Fr. Gabby presided  with Fr. Ruben, the novice master, concelebrating.  Present were the staff and personnel of the Cogeo polyclinic, the adult formands and the ‘holy novices.’ After the mass we proceeded to the canteen of the clinic for our simple salo-salo.  After the simple lunch that filled our stomachs to capacity, we had a videoke session (sing all you can) until 5:30 PM.

July is also very significant to our family members: to Nov. Juya, Fr. Paul, and our beloved parish priest in Boso-boso, Fr. Meng, because they added another year to their age.

Exodus Journey

Last July 13, 14 & 15, the novices attended their first modular classes in Exodus as part of their formation program. EXODUS means “Exchange of Dreams in a United Struggle for a Relevant Formation.”  The classes held at St. Paul University consisted of theater arts. It was tiring because of the many activities involved, but good and exciting because the novices performed like the actors of the Korean telenovela “Boys over Flower.”  The activity helped them grow more mature in dealing with the expression of their feelings. The instructor always asked the novices to express the feelings of anger, joy, surprise, sadness, etc.

If you meet the novices don’t ask them to perform because they will show you a “bras-bas” position.   …bras-bas…give me a happy face…
