Balugo Baloney
Written by Fr. Tom Welu, MI

We celebrated the end of Flores de Mayo with a small party for the kids who attended catechism classes during May.  The chapel was packed with God’s favorite people – kids.  Their souls were cleansed by confession before Mass while during Mass a good number made their first communion.  I’m sure God was happy that day.

Getting ready for a big day here – June 13th.  17 years (how’s that for baloney?) and enjoyed every minute of it.  Just kidding!  Sometimes life became a pain but what the heck – that’s life!

Stay out of Dumaguete and the surrounding area.  Why?  All the roads leading to, inside and leading out of the city are ripped up.  No police to monitor traffic and it’s a mess.

Question to ponder:  Why so much road construction these days?  Guess the big shot wants to make life easier for the people by providing new cemented roads.  Why not provide new classrooms?  How’s that for baloney?

Hey, Notre Dame University (one of the top Catholic schools in the USA) exhibited its morality or amorality by inviting baby-killer “Super” Obama to give its 2009 commencement address.  Of course, he promoted abortion “but only when necessary.”  If I was a Notre Dame graduate (thank God I’m not) I would box up my diploma along with a pile of you know what and send it to the school.

What a disgrace to the Catholic Church’s stand on morality.  I hope all the alumni quit sending money to support that “Catholic” bino of hypocrisy.

On behalf of the Order of St. Camillus I donated a volleyball and net to the high school here in Balugo.  They have added second year this school year.

Did you know that Romania wants to make consensual incest legal?  France, Spain and Portugal don’t prosecute consenting adults for incest.  How’s that for baloney?

Cover your mouth when coughing and keep washing your hands.  The swine flu could be lurking right behind you.

I use a mask now whenever I fly.  Prevents a lot of colds.  Keep smiling.

Until next month, Fr. Tom Welu, MI.
