Isko after the Renewal…

Glance back at History…

A day after the renewal of vows, Fr. Giovanni Rizzi, MI, a confrere from the Taiwan delegation, gave a talk about the start of the Camillian mission in the Far East and the developments that led to the establishment of the Philippine Province.  He narrated the experiences of the first Camillian missionaries when they began the mission in China and how they were led to Taiwan and eventually to the Philippines.

The forum lasted for one whole day.  The scholastics together with other confreres attended the activity.  Through Fr. Rizzi’s stories the scholastics learned more about their forefathers and grew in appreciation of the Order that they have joined.

Planning Session…

A week right after the renewal of vows the scholasticate community held their planning session, with the theme “One community…one charism” from June 8 to 11 2009 at the pastoral center auditorium. Kuya Rolly and Ate Beth Buencamino facilitated the sessions.

All of the scholastics and the formators, Fr. Boy and Fr. Evan, attended the planning session, and plunge into the task of evaluatingthe year that has been and at the same time to make new plans and activities for the present year. The output of the session was the community calendar for the whole year which will help the community achieve its vision-mission.  The planning session also became a venue where the scholastics could show concern for one another and for the community as they actively evaluated every activity and gave suggestions for improvement.

The four-day activity was a very tiring but highly enriching experience for the community members as they heard and exchanged different views, opinions and suggestions. Moreover, it proved that they are indeed “one community… (with) one charism”.
