WOW! GO FOR OTHERS’ WELFARE…“Wow!Wow!Wow!” exclaimed a parishioner of Nuestra Señora de la Anunciata as he finished donating blood for the patients of the parish. There was a mix of pain and fulfillment in his face as he started munching the snack given to him. All in all, the experience was a WOW! (WE for OTHERS’ WELFARE). In the past month, there were echoes after echoes in the mountain that describe the endeavors involving the community - WE for OTHERS WELFARE. WOW! GO GREEN PROJECT…Nuestra Señora de la Anunciata Parish was chosen as the secretariat for the reforestation project of the diocese of Antipolo, Caritas and other agencies. There are around 5,000 hectares of land subject for the re-greening movement. Go Green! Good Luck, Fr. Meng and Parishioners! Wouldn’t that be WOW for MOTHER EARTH too? WOW! GIVE BLOOD… SAVE LIVES…The parish launched its first Blood Donation program in coordination with the National Kidney and Transplant Institute Blood Bank. Last March 7 a group from NKTI conducted a blood donation drive in the parish. This has been Fr. Meng’s longtime dream – to have a reserve pool of blood for our brothers and sisters in the parish in dire need of blood. This would mean easy access to blood transfusion in emergency cases. Go Red! Continue saving lives! WOW! FIESTA OF ANUNCIATA…March 25. A Eucharistic celebration opened the day’s feast. All the chapels under the parish from the different sitios of the mountains of Antipolo joined the celebration. Fr. Meng presided at the mass while some Camillian confreres concelebrated. It was a joyous moment of Koinonia. A salo-salo followed as the parishioners shared their bountiful harvest. In the afternoon, the candidates for Mr. and Miss Anunciata paraded on the roads of Boso-Boso. The coronation, the awarding of prizes to the winning candidates, and the raffle draw ended the celebration in the evening. According to Fr. Meng, the proceeds they collected will be used for the construction of the baptistery of the church. Go, Anunciata! |
