“SUPERB! ENRICHING!” said one of the members of the Parish Pastoral Council of Nuestra Senora de la Anunciata Parish. She was describing their first FELLOWSHIP gathering in the parish last January 31, which aimed at fostering communion and unity among the members of the different Basic Ecclesial Communities of the parish. For the parish of the Annunciation, February is a month of enriching and nurturing. The parishioners started the month full of vigor and unity as they launched their first fellowship in the parish. The fellowship became a venue for them to share their experiences and pray together as one Church. At the same time they also shared food in an agape. The gathering was a success, as each participating member went home with anticipation for the next fellowship scheduled on the last Saturday of February. On another note, the youth leaders of the parish underwent a leadership training seminar last February 14 with Ms. Ellen Catchico as their resource speaker. Ms. Catchico is the guidance counselor in St. Camillus College Seminary, Marikina, and she also extends her help to the Day Care Center in Boso-Boso. “It is my way of showing love to the members of the Church,” she said. Almost 100 children received first “Holy Communion” last February 22. The excited first communicants, all dressed in white, lined up together with their parents in front of the church. As soon as the choir began to sing, they slowly entered the church, filled with anticipation and awe because they would be receiving the “Body and Blood of Christ.” After the Eucharistic celebration, all the children gathered in the grounds of Escoula de San Kamilo for an agape. Indeed, February is the “heart month”--- a month of nurturing the parish community towards communion and leadership. And what’s up for March? “EXTREME communion” will happen on the 25th in Boso-Boso as the parish celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of the Annunciation. See you there and let’s be part of the Koinonia. |
