Healer's Voice
Written by Ms. Helen Marie P. Mendoza

The year started with the celebration of a TV Mass at ABS CBN Davao Studio last January 3.  Fr. Tex, MI presided over the anticipated Mass with the Divine Healer Choir and some chapel volunteers.

Last January 9-10, the Divine Healer Choir had their fellowship and election of officers at High Ponds Resort in Binugao, Toril, Davao City. The gathering started with Taize prayer facilitated by Fr. Tex.  Fellowship activities followed.  On the following day, we celebrated the Holy Mass and held the election of new officers.

On January 18, the new officers of the Divine Healer Choir were inducted into office by the Chaplain himself during the 9:30 a.m. Mass.  There was also a turnover ceremony.  The new officers are: President -   Marife I. Payot, Vice-President-  Marie I. Payot, Secretary- Kristyl Aiah Ucang, Treasurer- Michael John Gestopa, and Auditor- Eisha Chueng.

The following day, January 19, the new officers of the Camilian Family of Davao, Inc. (CFDI) were also inducted into office by the Spiritual Assistant, Fr. Tex MI. It was done during the Monday morning mass at the Wellness Center of the hospital. The new officers are: President – LCF Guillerma B. Apigo, Vice-President – LCF Helen Marie P. Mendoza, Secretary – LCF Zenaida M. Banzon, Treasurer – LCF Brenda N. Lucas, Auditor – LCF Grace B. Bernardo and PRO – LCF Andrea Jamias.

The turn over ceremony took place at the chapel in the afternoon of the same day.  Fr. Tex prepared and facilitated a very nice liturgy, followed by short messages of the new officers, the past president, LCF Belen Aspera, and the Vice President of the Camillian Family, National Level, LCF Romeo Obillo. There was also a ceremonial handing over of responsibility from the past to the present president. A simple early dinner was shared at the chapel’s refectory after the activity.

It is the aspiration of the chaplain that groups like these, though exercising apostolic activities of different natures, will work hand in hand in their service to God’s people.

To God be the glory always!
