Balugo Baloney
Written by Fr. Tom Welu, MI

A Blessed Christmas and a joy filled New Year to you all!

The “award winning” writings of all the news fit and not fit to print – the Baloney – is back.

While in the U.S.  I was able to cover the recent presidential election up to the fateful conclusion. The Americans have elected as president a promoter of baby killing.  Why do I say this?  Because he is pro-abortion and four times as senator voted against providing medical care to babies who survived a botched abortion.  He was in favor of just putting the baby in a corner and letting him/her die.

Morality and God have been ejected from the American culture.  Other examples: two states allow mercy killing and another two states allow marriage between couples of the same sex.

There are still many good moral people in the U.S. but they are a minority.

You can’t throw out God and His commandments and expect to survive.

On a more pleasant note I want to extend my best wishes and prayers to Brother Angelino, M.I.  He has returned to Italy after 30 years of helping the poor and the sick here in the Philippines.  May God grant you happiness, good health and many more years of helping others in Italy.  Thanks for your untiring dedication.

The gut-wrenching and fatigue inducing Misa de Gallo will begin here Dec. 16th.  The people love it but for me it’s like a bad cold – I can do without it – but duty calls.

Health Notes

Typhoid Fever and Cholera have raised their ugly heads especially in Luzon.  Seems that officials only react to such health problems after they arise.  People have to die before any preventive measures are initiated.

What preventive methods can be used to stop these diseases before they start?  Here are some:

  • Governments and local officials must continually check the water supply to see if it’s contaminated.

  • People must wash their hands after going to the C.R. and before eating and preparing food.

  • Boil the drinking water for at least 20 minutes.

Of course these guidelines will be observed for a while and then ignored or forgotten.

Until next month,

Fr. Tom Welu, MI
